The members of ASC, Norman Lindsey, Jackie Sanders, supported by Phillip Johnson,

have enjoyed many years experience in their respective professions:- civil engineering,

teaching ice skating, athletics/sports coaching and recreation management.

All three have competed in their own sports; athletics, ice skating and football from

club and school, to international level and have officiated at all levels from club to

National, Commonwealth, World, Olympic, and Paralympic competition.

The Sports Council of Great Britain awarded two substantial research grants to the

consultancy. The first, to examine athletics and multi sport facilities in the U.S.A,

Canada and Europe as preparation for the design of Manchester Victoria Station (now

GMEX) as an ice, athletics and general sports facility. The second grant was to design

and build part of an hydraulic track planned for London Docklands and to test all the

available surface materials.
